Phase 2 terms of reference

Following publication of the July 2007 NUAG Report (see below), NUAG is engaging with appropriate Government departments to identify and develop opportunities to implement its recommendations. An early opportunity is for NUAG's work to form the basis of the forthcoming review of the DfT HAUC Records Code of Practice.

Work has now started on the next phase of NUAG's work, to describe agreed processes, protocols, etc. for Sharing Asset Data and Displaying Asset Information that will enable future system development of the technological capability needed to deliver the NUAG Vision.

NUAG Report July 2007

This report sets out a new common approach to capturing , recording, storing and sharing underground asset information that offers significant benefits to all stakeholders.

The NUAG approach has been developed by experts representing utility companies, highway authorities, contractors, surveyors and IT specialists, based on regular and extensive stakeholder engagement. It forms the basis of a national high-level framework to deliver a set of minimum performance standards, all based on identified stakeholder requirements.

This framework is described in the NUAG Report Capturing, recording, storing and sharing underground asset information – A review of current practice and future requirements, published in September 2006.
